STOP MOTION:

The Fruit Eater

With my hands, knees, and teeth tied up with other characters I turned to stop motion to prerecord the fruit eaters actions. I strung my camera across the width my bus to record the piece flat on the floor. Once shot and edited, the mini movie played on my computer behind a paper cutout window.

WANTS/ KNEEDS:

Anita and Nicola

While I would have loved to collaborate with the many talented puppeteers in the area, self isolating meant using every part of my body to get characters on the screen. Even using the knees in this scene left me wanting an additional pair of hands!

TINY DREAMS:

Tiny Home

The Magic Penny was created for Portland’s first ever online digital extravaganza Tiny Dreams Puppet Slam hosted by local puppet genius Summer Olson. Thank you for all your hard work getting our art on the internet and to the Puppet Slam Network as a whole. Keeping in theme (or really just because I live in a school bus) I crafted, shot, and edited my entire piece in my tiny home. I’d also like to thank Bill Bryan for loaning me a computer and microphone to get me through this shelter in place time and making the creation of this piece possible.
